Splash Into Spring!

Key Club is selling blue raspberry drinks for $2.00 each today in the commons during the lunches.

Empowering Young Minds

Empowering Young Minds is meeting today, 3:00-4:00, in room 307. Empowering Young Minds is open to anyone in the school.

Sophomores/Summer Internships

Any 10th grader who is interested in doing a summer internship should see his counselor for an application. Internship provides the opportunity to gain experience in a prospective career field while earning one-half of a high school credit. The deadline to turn in applications is April 1.

North Dakota State Assessment

The North Dakota State Assessment is being given to all 10th graders on March 26, 27, 28 and 29 during students' language arts periods and on April 2, 3, 4 and 5 during students' math periods. If you have questions or concerns, please see Mrs. Halverson in the counseling office.

AP World History

AP world history students who are testing must pay the $99 test fee in the Central Campus finance office by Wednesday, March 27.

Summer Driver Education

There are places available in the summer driver education class. Please register in the finance office; the cost is $125.

Minot High School One-Act Play

Due to state testing at Central Campus, there is no matinee of the Minot High one-act play presented this year. The evening public performance is Friday, March 29, at Magic City Campus in the Arvel Graving Theatre at 7:30 p.m. The one-act competition entry for the state Class A one-act contest from Minot High School is “Faith County,” a comedy set in the deep South with nine colorful characters who find themselves in comedic situations. There are also individual events held at the state contest, and those Minot High students who compete in the individual events are performing their pieces on Friday, March 29, preceding the play. Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for children.

2019-20 Boys' Hockey

Hockey players who are interested in trying out for next year's boys' hockey team are asked to attend the spring player informational meeting on Monday at 7:00 p.m. at the MAYSA in the boys' locker room. We are discussing spring and summer on/off ice options and are organizing a player contact information list. This meeting is open to all players who are in grades 9-12 during the 2019-20 school year.

Attenton

Central Campus Sources of Strength members are collecting items to make first aid kits for this month's focus, medical access. The are collecting bandages, gauze, ointment, Ziploc bags, ice packs, alcohol wipes, etc. The drive is Wednesday, March 27, from 7:30 a.m.-8:00 a.m. in the commons. The first aid kits are going to the Minot Homeless Coalition.

Cheerleading Clinics and Tryouts

Clinics and tryouts for the 2019-20 MHS cheer team are at Central Campus on March 27, April 1, 2 and 3. March 27 is a practice for incoming Freshmen and brand new cheerleaders with a focus on basic cheer skills. On April 1 and 2, all cheer material is being taught. Tryouts are April 3. Pick up an information sheet in the main office.

FBLA

Our next FBLA meeting is Wednesday, March 27, at 3:00 in room 101. If you are going to state, please be there.

Boys' Golf

Students who are interested in participating on the boys' golf team are asked to attend the parent/player sign-up and informational meeting on Thursday, March 28, at 6:00 p.m. at the Souris Valley Golf Course. Athlete registration and sign-up information is available on the boys' golf website at www.gomagi.com

Off-Season Training Event

Coach Holmen and Coach Winczewski are giving off-season athletes a chance to participate in a new 2019 spring training event. This eight-week strength and conditioning program requires participants to download the app PLT4M. Use the join code "Magicians" to sign up online. Weekly training sessions are usually on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday in the MCC weight room. Come and train with teammates. Go, Magi!
